Neil Says.......

Hi everyone,
Has it really been a month already since the last newsletter? Time is simply flying by as the hectic show season schedule continues while orders for kits and factory build Murtaya keep coming in.

This month has seen us up at Llandow for the Complete Kit Car/OMEX track-day, finish the build of and SVA a Minari, complete two Murtaya builds, carry out some race testing, have a road test published by MSN (go to MSN Car Reviews and select AMS from the manufacturer drop down menu to read their thoughts!), have an A’level student on work experience placement for a week, say goodbye to Tim who has now left for Australia, and welcome a new member to the team. Daz has stepped into Tim’s shoes and is already well into the swing of things here at AMS.

Last month I spoke about the different ways that customers are building up their Murtaya so this month you will find pictures of some of the builds that have reached completion already. I spent a great day with Ian Stent of Complete Kit Car magazine driving around in our well abused blue Murtaya and Ian’s freshly completed and SVA’d car (another first time pass!). John Watson has done a lovely job of putting this car together and I will not steal Ian’s thunder by saying too much here, suffice to say that piloting the two cars around the roads of Cornwall in pursuit of photo locations made for a nice day at work! Look out for the final build instalment in the magazine and be amazed that we actually had a day of sunshine in what has been a pretty lousy summer weather wise. The pictures will be fantastic, a big thank you to Dave Perks for lettng us loose with a camera in his playground!

The new show at Stafford took place over the weekend of 13/14th September. We could not make it this year due to the crazy amount of work that we have on and other commitments meaning that we simply could not make the logistics work. Den Tanner and his team put a huge amount of effort into getting the show up and running for which they should be applauded and I have no doubt that they will be looking to grow and improve the show year on year. As I have said before about other shows let the organisers know what you think and what you would like to see at these events - they want to please you so provide constructive feedback directly to them and we will all see the scene move forwards.

Next month is set to be very exciting with some big news coming on the Toniq front and the most powerful and extreme Murtaya to date being completed here at the factory. I’ll put full details into the next newsletter but to give you a sneak preview, carbon composite monocoque and panels, 6 speed gearbox, 450bhp, huge brakes and lots of trick bits. As the Automatic sang recently “What’s that coming over the hill – Is it a monster!”

All the best until next time,

Neil.

News

Murtaya Circuit Racing
The factory rally car was recently put through its paces by works driver James Harrison at Llandow circuit. James has extensive experience of many renowned racing cars having raced and won in various Ginetta and Radicals. The purpose of the day was to test the car at a venue where benchmark times set by James in other vehicles was available. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the car in rally specification was lapping consistently within a second of other high profile fully developed race cars. With several quick and easy modifications we know that we can take 2 seconds per lap from the times set on the day so things are looking very promising for next years race campaign. James is certain to be a star of the future so keep an eye out for him, supremely talented, young, modest and good looking – makes you sick doesn’t it!

Murtaya Track Day Experiences
To build on the track day demonstrations which we have offered in the past we are now going to introduce exclusive Murtaya track day driving days. Places will be strictly limited and the days will include lots of time driving the Murtaya (there will be at least two Murtaya at each day) on track along with personal one to one instruction from James Harrison allowing you to develop as a driver and get the most out of the car. No rev-limited restrictions in place here, just high powered sportscars and high quality instruction. E-mail to enquiries@adrenalinemotorsport.co.uk for further details.

Rally Day At Castle Combe
Saturday 20th brings around another Rally Day at the fast Wiltshire circuit. This is a fantastic day out which we can not recommend enough. With support from major manufacturers and star drivers the static and live exhibits/demonstrations are brilliant. We have a stand there and will be showing the rally Murtaya. If you enjoy your motorsport this day really should be in your diary every year.

New Media Formats
How do people find information nowadays? Word of mouth, papers and magazines are still prime sources for many but without doubt the internet is now the first point of call for most. An interesting development has been the growth in e-zines. These are intended to bring a new dimension to the somewhat flat style of many internet sites and as technology marchestrelentlessly forward they are getting better and better. A great example of this has been launched by some of the biggest names in automotive journalism. Jethro Bovingdon, Richard Meaden and Chris Harris have written and Edited at the highest level for the likes of EVO and Autocar magazines, now having combined their skills to launch www.drivers-republic.com. Without question this site is packed with innovation, superb photography, beautifully written pieces and video clips which really put you in the seat of the cars which they are testing. Will this ever replace the good old printed products? I doubt it (and indeed doubt that the founders intend it to!). There is something very satisfying about picking up and flicking through a magazine which simply can not be recreated on a screen. However what this does offer is a new level of interactivity and involvement with road tests, the opportunity to get closer to the sounds, sensations and feelings inspired by the cars being tested. We think that what they have done is a real step forward and we wish them well with their bold new venture.

Build Slot Available
Due to an unexpected cancellation of a factory build for an overseas client we do have one build slot available for this year. If you would like a Murtaya built we can squeeze one more in before Christmas so get in touch. We already have orders in for cars to be assembled in the New Year so this offers an opportunity to jump the queue and get a car before Spring 2009. Final build specifications can still be tailored to meet exact requirements including engine specification and interior/exterior trim.

Other Cars For Sale
Further to the Ferrari and Ultima from the last couple of months we now have a BMW 330 Convertible. Fully loaded with leather and electric everything this stunning black 51 plate car can be driven away for £10,995.
